Rules & Regulations
1.  The Salem Independent Horror Film Festival is for independent filmmakers only.

2.  All entries must fit the required genre criteria as described in the "The Films" section of this site.  If the film or video does not meet the criteria to the judges' satisfaction, it may not be judged and entry fees will not be returned.

3.  All visual content, dialogue, and music must be original, or permission must be obtained if material is not original.

4.  All entries, no matter what their original formats, must be submitted on a VHS tape or an NTSC formatted DVD or it will not be viewed.
5.  Short program films include films that are 40 minutes or less.  Long program films include films that are 40 minutes or more.  Winning short films will be shown together as a packaged presentation.

6.  Entering a film as a Short program submission requires a $25 entry fee.  Entering a film as a Long program submission requires a $35 entry fee.

7.  Entries must be submitted including the completed "Entry Form" (linked from the home page) (copies accepted), and a check or money order for the specified amount, made out to Orange Lotus Productions (address is on the "Entry Form").

8.  Entrants must be 13 years old to be elligible.

9.  Submissions may be sent starting January 1, 2006 and the last postmarked date accepted will be September 16, 2006.

10.  It is NOT necessary to be present at the festival to win an award.

11.  Awards will be announced on October 7, 2006.  Festival representatives will be in contact with the winners at that time.

12.  VHS and DVD entries will not be returned.

13.  The filmmaker will not receive any profits from the festival presentation(s).

14.  All judges' decisions are final.
