| 10/25/04 - The festival was yeasterday and the turn-out was great! This year we were able to expand the festival to six showings throughout the day. The audiences included many tourists in town to catch the Halloween spirit, local residents curious about Salem's newest successful attraction, and New England film professionals making the special trip to take in some great amateur films. We thank everyone who participated in this year's festival and hope that you contribute next year as well. Thank you all for helping build this fantastic festival each year. |
| 9/10/05 - The entry deadline has is here! If you didn't make the deadline this year, we encourage you to enter next year. We will begin accepting for the 2006 festival on January 1st. As for everyone who entered this year, thank you for your participation. We have viewed many films and will continue to do so. We have high hopes for the festival this year. Thank you, everyone! |

| 10/11/05 - The awards have been announced! The winners are posted on a page linked from the home page. Congratulations to all of this years winners and thank you once again to all of the filmmakers that entered. We encourage everyone to continue making films and giving us the opportunity to watch them. The festival will start the night of Friday the 28th and continue through Sunday the 30th. The venue is the Russian Aide Society on Pickering Wharf in Salem. Stay tuned to the web site for more information. |

| 10/30/05 - Happy Halloween! The festival was this past weekend and it was a great success! Our attendance was fantastic and there was a lot of great feedback about the films and show as a whole. We want to thank everyone that attended, participating filmmakers, and all of the volunteers and organizations that help make this festival happen. As mentioned in the program, next year will mark many changes to the festival and those will begin right here at the website soon. We hope that you stay updated on our growth as the next year progresses. |

| 1/1/06 - Happy New Year! New year means a new festival. More horror, more fun. We are now accepting films and videos for the 2006 festival. Other exciting news: we have changed our name to the Salem Independent Horror Film Festival and will now be accepting films and videos of all lengths. That's right, we are no longer just a short film festival. Visit the "rules & regulations" section of this site for more details. All in all, this year promises to bring our biggest festival to date.
