Up to three other films/videos from each catagory (dependant on festival time restraint) will also be included in the festival as "Honorable Mention" winners.
All entrants will receive the judges' ratings and comments. All films and videos will be judged on five aspects of filmmaking: (1) The storyline and/or concept, (2) the photography, (3) the sound, (4) the editing, and (5) the production design.
There will be two rounds of judging. The first will be the Preliminary Judging. The judges for this process will include three New England film industry professionals. The films with the six highest scores will then move into the Final Judging. This is where three other New England film industry professionals (including directors, producers, etc.) will score the films and videos for placement (First, Second, Third or Honorable Mention) in each catagory. Not all submissions that make it to the Final Judging will be awarded.
The festival shows will be open to the public on October 27th through the 29th, 2006. All entrants of the SIHFF will receive two free admissions. |
